Quirino State University (QSU) Maddela Campus, in partnership with the Provincial Environmental Natural Resources Office (PENRO), took a step towards a greener future with a calamansi planting activity on January 16, 2024.

Initiated by the QSU Maddela Student Government, members of the Young Student Farmers Organization (YSFO), faculty, and staff from the ROTC, Research, and Production offices planted 600 calamansi seedlings at an idle lot on the campus, transforming it into a productive learning site for agriculture students.

University President Hermenegildo F. Samoy Jr., Campus Administrator Eduard P. Alip, Dennie T. Ruma, Manuel T. de Guzman, Carmela G. Blando, Dra. Ma. Luisa Cortez, and Dr. Victorino Sumaling extended their full support to the potential income-generating initiative. It demonstrates the university’s holistic approach to environmental stewardship, collaborating across different departments and stakeholders to achieve environmental sustainability and academic advancement.
