Delegations from the six universities convened on the evening of April 2 for a socialization event at the Quirino Water Sports Complex before the start of the competitions. The event leveled the ground for the competing clusters.

Vice Governor Julius Caesar S. Vaquilar and Provincial Administrator Carmelita B. Jimenez duly represented Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua and PCSO Chairman Junie E. Cua in welcoming the visitors. Together with QSU President Hemenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., they extended their warmest welcome to everyone and expressed their delight in having to host this year’s CaVRASUC. They took pride on the political stability and unity in the province that has long been established under the leadership of PCSO Chairman Junie E. Cua, then Governor of the lone district of Quirino.

Vice Governor Vaquilar encouraged all for another visit to the province and enjoys the scenic spots with their family, relatives and friends. He boasted Quirino as a place to experience ultimate adventures with its cavernous caves, clear rivers, and the best wakeboarding with its natural lagoon.

Meanwhile, PA Jimenez announced the Governor’s initiative to align UP’s curriculum with QSU, the first in the region, for uplifting the standard and quality of education of the university. President Samoy, Jr., introduced QSU highlighting its three campuses.

Led by President Samoy, Jr., the QSU faculty and staff band played in the background and provided entertainment to the attendees over dinner. The gala ended with firm handshakes and well wishes among the representatives from each institution.
