Two QSU researchers, Ms. Novelyn L. Mitra and Dr. Emma D. Aspiras, recently presented their award-winning research papers at the 2024 Philippine Population Association International Scientific Conference (PPAISC) held on March 7-8, 2024, at the Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus in Tuguegarao City.

Mitra and Aspiras were previously recognized at the 2023 Cities Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Research Conference held last December 2023, where their research outputs secured first and second best paper, respectively.

Themed “Addressing Global Risks and Population Challenges Towards Sustainability: The Philippine Lens,” the conference focused on discussing pressing global issues within the context of the Philippines.

Both Mitra’s paper, titled “Forecasting Competitiveness Score of Provinces of Cagayan Valley through Mathematical Modelling,” and Dr. Aspiras’ paper, titled “Comparative Analysis of Government Efficiency among Cities and Municipalities in Region 02: Basis for a Policy-Driven Development Plan,” provided valuable insights for addressing population and population-related concerns in the Philippines.

The Department of Trade – Region 2 and the Philippine Population Association (PPA) supported the participation of the winning researchers in the 2024 PPAISC.
