The University is pleased to announce the formal designation of Dr. Romiro G. Bautista as the new Vice President for Academics, Research, and Extension (VP-ARE). The designation was formalized via Special Order No. 04-13-(01), Series of 2026, issued by Dr. Alfonso R. Simon, OIC-President, following the approval of the Board of Regents under QSU Board Resolution No. 50-548, Series of 2026.
Dr. Bautista, a Professor VI and the International Relations Officer of the University, will hold this pivotal leadership position until the end of the next school year.
The University warmly congratulates Dr. Bautista on this professional milestone. We wish him great success as he steers the direction of the institution toward greater heights of excellence and global competitiveness. His extensive experience in international relations and his academic expertise provide a solid foundation for the innovative leadership required in this new role.
We also extend our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Professor VI, for her dedicated service and valuable contributions during her stint as the former VP-ARE. Her leadership has been instrumental in laying the groundwork for the institution’s continued growth.
With Dr. Bautista at the helm of the ARE division, the QSU community looks forward to welcoming a period of revitalized academic programs, impactful research initiatives, and productive extension services that serve both our students and the local communities.
