QUIRINO STATE UNIVERSITY SPEARHEADS ENRICHMENT PLANTING

In an effort towards environmental sustainability and academic advancement, personnel from Quirino State University (QSU) joined together today, December 6, 2023, to conduct enrichment planting at the arboretum located at Maria Clara, Diffun, Quirino. The goal is to transform the 30-hectare co-managed area into a thriving forest, and used as forest laboratory by students of the Bachelor of Science in Forestry program.

The project leader, For. Joel G. Carig and the university president, Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy Jr., led the enrichment planting activity as a significant stride towards rejuvenating the ecological site while providing students from BS Forestry with experiential learning in a forestry setting. The re-greening efforts demonstrate QSU’s pursuit to academic excellence and environmental responsibility.
