Delegations from the six universities gathered together and participated in the grand parade that kickstarted the sports, culture, and arts festival of the year. This signified the start of the exciting CaVRASUC 2024 event in the region.

The march attracted spectators who waited to witness the bout of skills as it wound through Cabarroguis starting from Teresita Boulevard. The procession halted at the Quirino People’s Gymnasium for the opening program.

Regional CHED Director Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo expressed his happiness for the leaders of the six universities sitting at one table for the first time after three years. He also thanked the province’s leaders for their unwavering support to boosting education, sports, and culture in the region. The host university’s President Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr. started his message with a song of greetings, followed by the introduction of the guest speaker delivered by Vice President -ARE, Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig.

Vice Governor Vaquilar, who duly represented Hon. Dakila Carlo E. Cua, shared the resource speaker’s message, β€œMas magaling pag nagkakaisa, mas masaya pag sama-sama.”

The march of university colors and the presentation of each delegate by their respective presidents set the athletes into chanting their taunting cheers.

Present in the event are the presidents of each university and college headed by the RASUC 02 Chair Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino of ISU, Engr. Joel IbaΓ±ez of CSU, Dr. Agnes S. Reyes of PNU-NL, Dr. Djovi R. Durante of BSC, Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. of NVSU duly represented by the Campus Administrator of NVSU Bambang, Dr. Gerald L. Perez, and Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr. of QSU. Each leader’s message centered on the importance of unity, camaraderie, and sportsmanship with the mission of engaging strong commitment to promoting and showcasing the students’ skills in sports, culture, and arts.

The promenade of candidates in the Mr. and Miss CaVRASUC 2024 pageant enraptured the audience.

The event culminated with the lighting of the symbolic Friendship Flame by each SUC Student Representative, led by Mr. James C. Borja, Silver Medalist in athletics during the National SCUAA 2023. ISU President Aquino formally declared the opening of the 2024 CaVRASUC Games and Festival. The program ended with the announcement of the timeline of activities.
