Diffun, Quirino – After a two-day visit to assess the university’s compliance with educational policies, standards and guidelines, the Commission on Higher Education Region 2 (CHED-R02) on-site institutional and program monitoring team commended QSU Diffun while offering valuable recommendations for improvement.
The evaluators conducted a thorough inspection of various programs, including their facilities (particularly laboratories and libraries), faculty qualifications, curriculum structure, and documents, on March 6-7, 2024. Deans and program chairs warmly welcomed and assisted their assigned evaluators throughout the visit.
The programs reviewed included the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSEd), Bachelor in Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM), Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA), Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND), Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA), Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF), and Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE).
In the exit conference following the monitoring and evaluation activities, the CHED personnel presented their observations and recommendations focusing on lifting up the faculty qualifications by encouraging them to achieve a master’s degree and aligning their subject of instruction with their field of expertise, maintaining and upgrading laboratory equipment, and providing a balanced printed and online reference materials in the library.
Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Dr. Rosalyn L. Delizo, together with the directors, deans, program chairs, and distinguished faculty members actively listened and participated in the exit conference.
In her message, VP Carig expressed her appreciation to the efforts of the evaluators, taking into account their comments and recommendations. She reiterated that the university is committed to delivering the best education to its students, and improving instruction facilities is a priority of the current administration.
