The Universityโ€™s Health Services Unit (HSU) collaborated with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to conduct a First Aid and Basic Life Support Training at the Diffun Campus Gymnasium.

Commencing today, January 15, 2026 the two-day initiative aims to capacitate fourth-year College of Teacher Education (CTE) students by equipping them with the ability to recognize emergencies and perform life-saving measures while awaiting advanced medical support.

The training serves as a vital prerequisite for students prior to their deployment for internships. As future teachers, these students are being prepared not only to impart knowledge but also to ensure the safety of the learners under their care.

This initiative was organized by the HSU under the leadership of Ms. Remylien C. Songco, Unit Head, with technical instruction provided by the PDRRMO. The following experts served as resource speakers and facilitators: Benjamin V. Viray, Joediaz S. Baltazar, Jomar R. De Vera, Joshua T. Taguding, Jayrone D. Collado, and Romelio T. Yaranon.

The sessions will conclude tomorrow, January 16, following a series of hands-on simulations and return demonstrations. Through this initiative, the University continues to foster a culture of preparedness, safety, and resilience within the academic community.
