The Quirino State University (QSU) and Cagayan State University (CSU) formalized a partnership on September 11, 2025, during a forum held at CSU Gonzaga Campus. The event aims to foster collaboration in research, development, and extension initiatives.

The day began with a welcome from the CSU Gonzaga Dance Troupe and a message from Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr., the Campus Executive Officer. Representing the University, Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Vice President of Academics, Research, and Extension, spoke about the value of inter-agency collaboration in research and development. She noted that the University was pleased to be chosen as a CSU’s partner. After the brief preliminaries, Dr. Khayle G. Agluba gave an overview of the day’s activities.

The forum’s highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions. Following the signing, Dr. Sheina Marie R. Gano, College Dean, and Dr. Jonathan N. Tariga, Program Chair of BSHM gave messages of commitment to the MOU.

The day concluded with a benchmarking activity. The University’s personnel attended an orientation on CSU’s bamboo-based programs and toured the Mangrove and Bamboo Research Innovation Center. The CSU-BSHM program also conducted an impact evaluation of their extension services, with BSHM and BSTM faculty from the University serving as evaluators.
