OBJECTIVES OF THE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL AND BIOSYSTEMS ENGINEERING:
- To provide quality education to AB Engineering students
- To generate innovative technologies and systems for the production and post-production of safe and secure food, Agri-products and energy with sustainable utilization and management of the environment and natural resources.
- To provide expertise in the field of AB engineering and affiliated industries for the country and beyond.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Three to five years after graduation, the BSABE graduates are:
- Licensed agricultural and biosystems engineers who are providing leadership in planning, implementing, and monitoring of agricultural and biosystems engineering projects and programs;
- Occupying supervisory positions in public or private organizations involved in the design and implementation of projects in agricultural and biosystems engineering and other related fields in the local or global arena.
- Managing his own ABE-based business enterprise.
- Licensed professionals holding responsible positions in HEIs involved in the academic, research, development, and extension programs.
- Licensed professionals pursuing advanced studies, participating in life-long learning processes, and keeping abreast to technology trends for continuing personal and professional development.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
By the time of graduation, students of the program have the ability to:
- Apply knowledge of mathematics & science to solve engineering Problems
- Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret the data
- Design a system, component or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health & safety, manufacturability and sustainability, in accordance with standards
- Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
- Identify, formulate and solve agricultural engineering problems
- Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
- Recognize the need for, and engage in life-long learning
- Know contemporary issues
- Use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
