A beacon of inspiration, Dr. Romiro G. Bautista, Professor VI and International Relations Officer of the University, has earned the esteemed title as one of the 10 Most Inspiring Teachers of the Republic of the Philippines in 2025. This significant national accolade comes from Saceda Youth Lead (SYL), a leading youth leadership NGO committed to advocating education’s vital contribution to national progress.

The Most Inspiring Teacher (MIT) award transcends traditional academic metrics, focusing instead on educators’ narratives, moral leadership, grassroots heroism, and transformative impact on students and communities, often under challenging conditions. Dr. Bautista is among the ten exceptional educators chosen from a vast pool of nominees this year. This honor celebrates his courage, compassion, and competence in molding minds and refining character, truly going beyond the call of duty.

Dr. Bautista, along with other awardees, will also receive an honorary conferment as Profesor Ad Honorem and Vitasta Ambassador Distinction from Université Henry Dunant, République de Côte d’Ivoire – USIG, an international partner of Saceda Youth Lead. The official awarding ceremony is scheduled for September 5, 2025, in Dumaguete City.
