Key officials of the University led by Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., President, took part in a unique three-in-one event that combined the Environment Month Celebration, Alay sa Masa, and joint birthday bash for three esteemed political leaders of the province.

The event held today, June 3 at Baro a Lubong, Mangandingay, honored Hon. Junie E. Cua, former Governor and Congressman; Hon. Mary Anne E. Cua, QSU Board of Regents member, and Hon. Midy N. Cua, Congresswoman. The celebrations synchronized with the Environment Month, aligning perfectly with QSU’s advocacy for sustainability.

The festivities, themed “Kalikasang Pinangangalagaan ng Pamunuang may Paninindigan,” included a jovial maΓ±anita program, a traditional Filipino birthday serenade, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere. Beyond the personal tributes, the event served as a platform for promoting environmental awareness and community involvement.

Supporting the Provincial Government of Quirino, QSU actively participated in a two-day initiative focused on environmental care. The program also facilitated the distribution of crucial agricultural inputs, empowering local communities to cultivate their own food sustainably.

The comprehensive Alay sa Masa program extended beyond environmental initiatives, encompassing a variety of community services. A thanksgiving mass was held after the maΓ±anita program, followed by the conduct of Diskwento Caravan, providing discounted goods and services; a combined medical and dental mission addressed healthcare needs; a mobile clinic ensured accessible primary care; and the distribution of essential kits to senior citizens showed care for the elderly.

The maΓ±ita program concluded with a live band performance, dance performances, and celebratory breakfast.
