The University recently hosted an exploratory meeting regarding a potential collaborative research project on carbon incentive system with Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) at the RDET Conference Hall of the Diffun Campus.

Dr. Jayson Caranza, Dean of the College of Forestry, Environment, and Resource Management; Dr. Guillermo Mendoza, Balik-Scientist Professor; and several faculty members from NVSU’s Center for Forest and Environmental Resources Management (CFERM) participated in discussions with officials from Research and Development (R&D) Department and the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Engineering (CAFE).

Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., University President; Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Vice President for Academic Research and Extension; and Dr. Edgar V. Benabise, Dean of CAFE, welcomed the NVSU research team. Together, they outlined plans and defined the roles of each institution in this potential joint research venture. This collaboration aligns with the shared academic research interests of both universities in sustainable forestry practices and carbon management.

This promising partnership between the University and NVSU is seen to strengthen ties, beneficial to both institutions and the wider community.
