Today, October 21, 2024 marks the official start of the accreditation process for three academic programs of the University. The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) programs of Diffun and Maddela Campuses, along with the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSE) program of Cabarroguis Campus, are undergoing First Survey Visits.
Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) program of Diffun campus is in its 3rd Survey Phase 2 Revisit for Area III (Curriculum and Instruction), and the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program of Cabarroguis Campus is undertaking a Preliminary Survey Visit.
During the opening program, Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Vice President for Academic, Research, and Extension, welcomed the accreditors and participants. She expressed gratitude for their time and dedication, hoping that the assessment would be both insightful and rewarding.
Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., University President, provided words of encouragement, highlighting the importance of reflection and continuous improvement. He emphasized that accreditation serves as an opportunity to identify strengths and weaknesses, evaluate performance, and assess facilities. The resulting data would be useful in planning and decision-making, ultimately leading to enhanced quality in services and operations. QSU’s commitment to excellence, quality, and relevance aligns with its effort to fulfill its mission, vision, and goals. He also added that by undergoing rigorous evaluation, the programs aim to demonstrate their adherence to high standards in providing quality education to students.
Further, Dr. Arlyn J. Yra, BSND Program Chairperson and Dr. Eunice B. Custodio, Overall Coordinator and also an evaluator from Bulacan State University, introduced the accreditors. The team comprised of esteemed evaluators, namely: Dr. Benica S. Briones from Pangasinan State University; Dr. Bernadeth Gabor from Bataan Peninsula State University; Prof. Marites D. Carreon from Sorsogon State University; Dr. Adrian P. Abante from Partido State University; Dr. Marian Krishna M. Ruzgal of Aklan State University; Dr. Roxanne T. Bongco of Bataan Peninsula State University; Dr. Efren U. Galapon of University of Northern Philippines; Dr. Lauren P. Kipaan from Benguet State University; and Prof. Estelita A. Villa from Cavite State University.
The five-day accreditation process, which will conclude on Friday, October 25, involves a rigorous evaluation of the programs. The evaluation team will assess the programs’ curriculum, faculty, facilities, and overall quality.
