Dr. Divina Gracia S. Sabio, an Associate Professor V at Quirino State University, was recently recognized by the Local Government Unit of Echague, Isabela for her significant contribution to the preservation of Echague Yogad cultural heritage. Dr. Sabio’s 2017 research, titled “Cansion nu Yogad, Cansion nu Luta (Retrieval, Translation, and Analysis of Yogad Folk Songs),” was lauded for its efforts to document and analyze the unique folk songs of the Yogad people.

The awarding ceremony was held on October 4 at the Municipal Compound, San Fabian, Echague, Isabela, during the Grand Opening of the Mengal Festival 2024. Dr. Sabio’s research provides important accounts and documents essential in keeping the Yogad people’s culture alive.
