Quirino State University was recognized for its exemplary support and outstanding contribution to the successful implementation of the Filipino Brand of Excellence Program for 2023 during the Regional Tourism Awards Night and Fashion Show, held on September 27, 2024 at the Governor Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., University President, received the award on behalf of QSU alongside Hon. Maria Angela E. Cua, QSU Board of Regents Member and Cagayan Valley Tourism Council (CVRTC) Chairperson.

Among the key figures who presented the award were: Hon. Ferdinand C. Jumapao, DOT Under Secretary; Dr. Troy Alexander G. Miano, DOT R02 Regional Director; Dr. Cecilia La-Madrid Dy, Vice Chair for Culture and the Arts; and Hon. Jose V. Gambito, Governor of Nueva Vizcaya.

The ceremony was a highlight of the National Tourism Month Celebration, the Regional Tourism Forum, and the CVRTC General Assembly. This multi-event joined together stakeholders, industry leaders, and tourism professionals from across the region to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in the tourism sector and explore ways to enhance the region’s tourism landscape.
