Quirino State University recently held its 12th University In-House Review of On-going and Completed Research Projects and Products Expo on September 5, 2024 at the RDET Complex in Diffun Campus. Themed, “Harnessing Innovation in the Academic Sphere through Research, Intellectual Property, and Technology Transfer,” the event sought to provide an avenue for the researchers to present and improve their papers with helpful review input, which can raise their chances of success in external presentations, publications, and research utilization.
During the in-house review, Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr. (University President), recognized the presence of the high-profile evaluators and keynote speaker. He also expressed his gratitude to the researchers for their work that contributes to the achievements of the university and urged them to focus on helping the farmers to improve the agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lauro S. Aspiras (University Research Director) introduced Dr. Liberty I. Nolasco (Founding Owner of Governometrics Management Consultancy Services) as keynote speaker. Dr. Nolasco, shared the overview and history of research in the country and posed three questions that the participants could ponder on, “Where should we focus our innovation efforts?; For whom is innovation intended? ; and Where can innovation lead us?”
Further, Ms. Carmela G. Blando (Campus Director for Research in Maddela Campus) introduced the esteemed panel of evaluators, namely: Dr. Ryan P. Manuel, Dr. Reymund C. Derilo, Dr. Dante M. Aquino, Dr. Mary Jane S. Bitanga, Mr. Emmanuel Danguillan, Dr. Liberty I. Nolasco, Dr. Rosalyn S. Guingab, Dr. Aquinaldo Clemente, Jr., Dr. Sonny Aquino, Engr. Rocela Angela B. Gorospe, and Ms. Kristal Anne L. Pera-Postre.
Moreover, Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig (Vice President for Academics, Research, and Extension) offered words of encouragement to participants, emphasizing the importance of innovation in inspiring, nurturing, navigating, optimizing, validating, adopting, transforming, and elevating research.
Adding excitement to the research presentations, the event featured a display of innovative food products prepared by QSU students and faculty.
The event not only served as a platform for ensuring high quality research, fostered collaborative efforts that yielded valuable insights. It also paved the way to evaluating the integration of research methodologies into the innovated products, thereby providing basis for enhancing quality and effectiveness.
The in-house review concluded with an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding researchers and projects in various categories.
