The recently conducted CaVRASUC 2024 Athletic Meet and Culture & Arts Festival hailed QSU as the 2nd runner-up in the overall results of both sports and socio-cultural competitions. The University gained 172 medals in sports and a total of 128 points in the Culture and the Arts Festival.
During the event, QSU dominated in music and performing arts contests such as classical guitar, standard choral singing, show choir, live band, and dramatic arts. The reigning queen of QSU was crowned Miss CaVRASUC 2024. Two other candidates also secured the 2nd runner-up positions for Mr. and Ms. CaVRASUC.
QSU also grabbed runner-up awards such as 1st runner-up in vocal duet, short and sweet play (musical), and on-the-spot poster making contest; 2nd runner-up in pop-solo, short and sweet play (dialogue), and pencil drawing; 3rd runner-up in vocal solo kundiman, indigenous dance, painting, charcoal rendering, and photo contest; and 4th runner-up in violin, piano, banduria, street dance, contemporary dance, and folk dance.
As for the sports events, the University bagged 32 golds, 51 silvers, and 89 bronze medals, making it a top 3 Victor in the games. Winnings from Pencak Silat, Arnis, Taekwondo, Beach Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, and others contributed significantly to the overall rank of QSU.
ISU was declared champion followed by CSU as 1st runner-up, PNU-NL at 3rd, NVSU and BSC at 4th and 5th runner-up respectively for the socio-cultural competitions. Meanwhile, CSU was the champion for the CAVRASUC games, followed by ISU as 1st runner-up, with NVSU and BSC placing 3rd and 4th runner-up respectively.
The champions of the culture and the arts competitions will represent Region 2 in the upcoming Philippine Association of State and Colleges (PaSUC) National Culture and the Arts Festival 2024, at Philippine Normal University-Manila, together with the winners from the other state colleges and universities in the region.
