The Student Government (SG) of Diffun Campus recently conducted an outreach program through the Project SharPEN (Share, Participate, Engage, Nurture), on March 22, together with the Health Services Unit of the three campuses. Held in Diodol, Aglipay, Quirino, the project benefited a total of 530 residents.
With SharPEN as QSU-SG’s flagship program for community outreach and extension initiatives, the recent activity focused on promoting good oral hygiene and general health awareness. The QSU Health Services Team provided valuable health teachings on proper toothbrushing techniques to both residents and students.
Following the educational session, the SG led by Ms. Marie Erns Hore and SG Adviser Liezel S. Lopez, the Health Services Unit, council advisers, together with the officers from QSU Diffun’s Colleges of Teaching Education (CTE), Hospitality Tourism Management (CHTM), and Health Sciences (CHS) distributed grocery packs and essential hygiene kits – each containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, vitamins, and informative health flyer. This distribution benefited 100 families with 428 family members and 102 pupils from the main and annex campuses of Diodol Elementary School.
Some beneficiaries expressed their gratitude.
With the support of the administration led by University President Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., the outreach program demonstrated the strength of collective effort in making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people in Diodol.
