𝐐𝐒𝐔 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟
Quirino State University officially recognized the newly appointed, promoted and reclassified faculty and staff from Diffun, Cabbaroguis, and Maddela campuses in an oath-taking ceremony held at the Quirino Watersports Complex, San Marcos, Cabarroguis, Quirino today, January 24.
There were 13 newly appointed and promoted faculty and staff, approximately 40 reclassified instructors and assistant professors, over 30 reclassified associate professors, and 4 reclassified professors, comprised of Dr. Romiro Bautista, International Relations Officer – Prof. IV, Dr. Agaton Pattalitan, Jr., Dean of the College of Teacher Education – Prof. IV, Dr. Elizabeth Carig, VP for Academic Research and Extension – Prof. V, and Dr. Fredisminda Dolojan – Prof. VI, took their oath, administered by Dir. Elpidio Bunagan, Jr., Director II of Civil Service Commission.
Dr. Hermenigildo F. Samoy, Jr., University President, challenged each member of the faculty and staff, in his opening remarks, to take advantage of the opportunity and delivered a song that conveyed the message of hard work.
“Your achievement and advancement of your craft is an investment to you, your family, but (also) you are offering the investment to your colleague, to your university, most especially to our students, (and) to our community,” he exclaimed.
Moreover, Dir. Bunagan, Jr., addressed challenges that a public servant might face, and he emphasized the importance of gaining people’s trust as he lauded the efforts of newly appointed, reclassified, and promoted faculty and staff of the university.
“At the very first you have to start, put into your heart the (university’s) core values; these values will serve as your light and guide in the performance of duty and responsibility; these values made Quirino State University”, he exclaimed.
Subsequently, the awarding of appointments to the aforementioned recipients was led by Dir. Bunagan, Jr., Dr. Samoy, Jr., and Dr. Carig.
The event concluded with a lecture by Dr. Carig with regard to the new guidelines on the reclassification of faculty positions in State Universities and Colleges (SUC’s) mandated by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through Joint Circular No. 23, series of 2022.
She ended her lecture by encouraging the faculty and staff to be inspired even better by looking up the professors as a motivation to aspire greater heights.
“Who you are tomorrow, begins today. The more that we can contribute, we help our University to be globally competitive”, she uttered.
The said event was the first ever ceremony for the appointments of faculty and staff that was organized by the university to welcome and acknowledged the dedication of the faculty and staff for their service and excellence in their respective craft.
