Vietnamese officials and students from Can Tho University paid visit to Hon. Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua and his wife, Hon. Congresswoman Midy Cua, on December 10, 2022 at Capitol Hills, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
The event commenced with a music jam participated by Dr. Hhuyn Ahn Huy, CTU Dean of School of Education; Dr. Hermenigildo F. Samoy Jr, QSU President; Dr. Cherry P. Collado, QSU VP for Administration and Finance; Ms. Syrille Barayuga, QSU HRMO Officer; Dr. Edward Alip, Campus Admin-Maddela Campus; Ms. Liriolyn Pacursa, Chair BTLEd Program-Maddela Campus; Dr. Emma Aspiras, Chair MMpM program; Magdalena Guinumtad, Director for Instruction-Cabarroguis Campus; Dr. Romiro Bautista, International Relations Officer; and students from CTU.
After which, Gov. Cua and Cong. Cua formally welcomed the Vietnamese delegates. Gov. Cua acknowledged the role of Vietnamese in the development of the province and of the university.
“I acknowledge them as one of the most important partners in making better changes in our province […] I look forward for this relationship not only with the two universities but the two communities,” Gov. Cua remarked.
Meanwhile, Cong. Cua aspired for more years of strong partnership between CTU and QSU.
“We are looking forward for 30 more years of fruitful and progressive partnership with our university,” she exclaimed.
At the dinner fellowship, Ms. Jumreih Cacal, the QSU Kansyonista Adviser, and her students offered a serenade which everyone enjoyed.
The activity concluded with a tour around the Christmas Village headed by the QSU officers and staff. Vietnamese representatives also tried Filipino delicacies such as puto and kutsinta, and tried wearing the indigenous Bugkalot bag and Agta head dress.
