Quirino State University ended its 2nd International Virtual Conference on Research, Extension, and Innovation with the theme “Creating impact to the academe and beyond” on June 30 via Zoom and Facebook Livestreaming.
The last day of the said activity was filled with informative, relevant, and timely presentations of the remaining faculty research-presenters during the morning session.
In connection, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, Regional Executive Director – CHEDRO2, in his message, he said, “Innovation in the academe is more than technology. It is how technology is used to empower lifelong learners and become agents of change.” This values the significance of innovation in higher education institutions.
On the other hand, keynote and plenary speakers from Myanmar and Singapore excellently shared their experiences and scientifically-based researches; and the local researchers exquisitely presented their research papers.
University Director for Research, Dr. Lauro S. Aspiras, delivered the synthesis of the three-day virtual conference through acrostic using the word BEYOND- Beyond expectation, Excellent performance, Yields linkages and network, Oneness or teamwork, Notable plenary, and keynote speakers, and Diverse audience.
Dir. Dionisio C. Ledres Jr., Regional Director NEDA RO2, found issues of food shortages, poverty, climate change, and global warming interesting. He then emphasized, “Your role as researchers, innovators, and extension workers are at the forefront of this fight to correct errors of the past and address anticipated future needs.”
Awarding of Best Presenter and Best Paper in each session was done to recognize the faculty-researchers who presented commendably their research, extension outputs and innovation during conference. Meanwhile, the Most Productive Researcher (publication, intellectual property, resource generation and research presentation) and Most Productive Program in each campus for the last three years were also awarded during the activity to give due recognition to faculty members and programs that exhibit commendable performance in the different aspects of research and development.
The three-day virtual conference recorded a total of 2,328 faculty, student and attendees from different agencies, institutions, and countries.
The International Virtual Conference is an annual activity of the university that promotes the researches, extension services, and innovations of its faculty, staff, and administration as a manifestation to the attainment of the four pillars of the institution.
