The University marked the start of its localized National Womenโs Month Celebration (NWMC) with simultaneous kick-off activities held across three campuses earlier today, March 9, 2026.
Themed “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the morning’s activities featured diverse campus-specific highlights that celebrated empowerment through various media. The Cabarroguis Campus showcased cultural performances, while the Diffun Campus held an energetic Zumba routine for its participants. Meanwhile, the Maddela Campus conducted a film viewing of student-made audio-visual presentations, which served as a tribute to notable female students and personnel within the campus.
The event also served as a platform for voices of solidarity, featuring messages from Dr. Florigold V. Saldaen, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Emma D. Aspiras, GAD University Director and Cabarroguis Campus Coordinator; Ms. Rowena Y. Pimentel, Coordinator of Diffun Campus; and Ms. Goldy Grace P. Estrada, Coordinator of Maddela Campus. Their messages centered on the “Babaylan” concept, echoing the call to “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!” while honoring the contributions of inspiring women across the country.
In line with the slated activities for the national celebration, the Gender and Development (GAD) Office has outlined several initiatives for the remainder of the month. These activities are designed to raise awareness for women’s empowerment, celebrate womenโs contributions to society, promote gender-responsive policies, and uplift the diverse voices that serve as catalysts for progress.
