The University participated in the 47th Cagayan Valley Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development (CVAARRD) Anniversary Celebration, held today, December 18, at the Echague Campus of Isabela State University.

​Representing the University, a delegation from the QSU Research and Development Department joined other regional stakeholders in a collective effort to advance agricultural innovation.
Themed β€œResilient AANR: Advancing Sustainable, Climate-Resilient and Inclusive Rural Communities through Innovation, Commercialization and Partnerships,” the celebration commenced with a keynote address from Dr. Junel B. Soriano, Deputy Director General and Philippine Representative of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) based in Los BaΓ±os, Laguna.

A highlight of the program was the signing of a Pledge of Commitment together with Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs). This pledge is anchored in Ambisyon Natin 2040 and vows to actively promote science- based, innovative, inclusive, and sustainable research and development initiatives. These efforts will focus on enhancing food security, environmental resilience, climate-smart agriculture, and regional growth.

The signatories further committed to strengthening institutional collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge generation and dissemination. A core objective is to ensure that research is translated into impactful technologies and policies that benefit farmers, local communities, and all stakeholders across the region.
