The Extension Services and Community Engagement (ESCE) Department recently conducted the University In-House Review for Ongoing and Completed ESCE Projects. This event convened faculty extensionists from the Diffun, Cabarroguis, and Maddela campuses.

With goals to fulfill the institution’s vision and mission, the ESCE Department’s role is to extend the institution’s generated knowledge and technologies to communities and other stakeholders, ensuring these outputs are applied to address local needs, improve livelihoods, and foster sustainable development.

Dr. Fredisminda M. Dolojan, University Director of ESCE, welcomed the participants and proudly announced that the department achieved a total of 27 extension paper outputs for presentation, of which were 21 institutional projects and 6 externally funded projects. This number surpassed the department’s output target for the year.

Further, Dr. Lauro S. Aspiras, University Research & Development Director, represented Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., the University President and Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig, Vice President for Academics, Research, and Extension. He advised participants to embrace digital transformation, noting that the University now uses radio programs and a YouTube channel to deliver services to a wider audience. He also encouraged pursuing stronger partnerships for community benefit and development.

Dr. Melidiossa V. Pagudpod, Cabarroguis Campus ESCE Director, introduced the panel of experts serving as evaluators from Isabela State University (ISU). The panel included Dr. Irma T. Plata, Professor VI and Campus Extension Director; Dr. Ferdinand Bulusan, University Director for Extension and Training Services; Dr. Biley E. Temanel, retired Professor VI; and Mr. Vladimir C. Caliguiran, OIC Assistant Center Director of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)-Regional Training Center R02.

Following the preliminary program, Dr. Dolojan detailed the presentation mechanics before the breakout sessions began.

Held on October 29, 2025 at the Amphitheater of Diffun Campus, the review provided assistance to the faculty extensionists in improving their studies for possible external presentation, publications, and use by beneficiaries. It also created a formal venue for extensionists to showcase and present their ongoing or completed activities. The program concluded with the announcement of winners.

The University warmly congratulates the winners from the recent in-house review. Your excellent work in developing high-impact extension activities truly exemplifies the institution’s initiatives for public service.

We also extend gratitude to all faculty extensionists who participated. Your hard work is crucial to the institution’s mission. Thank you for your active service to your fellow Quirinians and for advancing the well-being of humanity.
