Following the successful ISO 9001:2015 recertification last year, the University has commenced its Stage 1 Surveillance Audit today, December 3, an intensive three-day review scheduled to run until December 5, 2025.
The audit began with an opening meeting held early this morning. Dr. Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., University President, officially welcomed the lead auditor from ACS W3 Solutionz. While expressing pride in the recent ISO renewal, he emphasized that the University views the audit not merely as a compliance requirement but as an opportunity for continuous improvement and organizational refinement.
Dr. Florigold V. Saldaen, Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) and the University’s Quality Management Representative (QMR), formally introduced the lead auditor—Mr. Vincent Ellie B. Jaramilla. She then presented the key officials from the various units and departments scheduled for evaluation.
Mr. Jaramilla explained that the audit seeks to confirm the continuous conformity and effectiveness of the University’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it adheres to the stringent standards of ISO 9001:2015. He further detailed the specific objectives, presented the comprehensive audit process, and addressed inquiries before the on-site inspection officially began.
The day’s proceedings immediately moved to the scheduled activities, starting with an in-depth interview with the top management to assess leadership efforts to quality. Subsequently, evaluations began in key administrative and academic offices including risk assessment.
The rigorous evaluation is slated to continue until Friday, December 5, 2025. The auditor will systematically cover all processes, procedures, and items identified in the audit plan, extending the review across all campuses to ensure a holistic assessment of the QMS in operation.
