Pursuant to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 15 issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 11:00 AM today, 21 September 2025, which provides a warning on the anticipated danger posed by Super Typhoon “Nando” (Ragasa), and in line with Memorandum Circular No. 96 from the Office of the Philippine President declaring the suspension of work in the Executive Branch, face-to-face classes and office work in the University are hereby suspended for the entire day on September 22, 2025.
While the official declaration emphasizes the observance of Family Week, the concurrent risks posed by Super Typhoon Nando necessitate precautionary measures for the safety and welfare of the entire University community.
To ensure continuity of operations, the following directives shall apply:
1. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
• Faculty members shall be working from home, implement modular mode of learning and provide students with the necessary instructional materials.
• Students are expected to comply with their assigned modules and submit requirements within deadlines set by their instructors.
• Deans, Directors, and Program Chairs are directed to ensure compliance with this memorandum. Faculty must submit proof of asynchronous learning activities.
2. 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟
• All staff shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement during the suspension period.
• Staff under WFH must keep communication lines open for instructions and urgent tasks.
3. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬
• All security personnel shall remain in their respective posts to ensure the safety and protection of University property and facilities.
The safety and welfare of the QSU community remain the highest priority. All are advised to remain vigilant, monitor official weather advisories from PAGASA and announcements from local government units, and take necessary precautions against the impacts of heavy rainfall and flooding.
