In its initiative for continued growth and workplace excellence, the University’s Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) facilitated an activity titled “QSU Synergy: Advancing Collaboration, Service Excellence, and Professional Image” on September 16 and 19, 2025.

Conducted based on the results of a recent Training Needs Assessment (TNA), the HRMO convened the administrative and non-teaching personnel for this training program designed to boost their organizational knowledge, enhance ethical awareness, and develop a positive workplace image.

The first day of the event commenced with a preliminary program. Dr. Cherry P. Collado, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance, thanked the HRMO for organizing the activity. She explained the importance of individual contributions to the collective success of the University. Further, she encouraged the personnel to reframe their daily tasks with a purpose, suggesting that their motivation should always be, “I am helping a student find a better future.”

A key part of the event was a comprehensive re-orientation of administrative policies, procedures, and guidelines. Unit heads took turns in presenting their processes, ensuring that the attendees were informed of each unit’s functions and roles as reflected in the University’s Quality Management System.

The second day of “QSU Synergy” began with a formal oath-taking ceremony for newly – hired and promoted personnel. The ceremony was led by Dr. Florigold V. Saldaen, Vice President for Administration and Finance, who officially welcomed the new and promoted members into their new roles. This segment served to formally induct staff to the University’s mission and values.

Following the oath-taking, Ms. Rowena Y. Pimentel, HRMO Unit Head, introduced the keynote speaker – Dr. Mary Grace O. Gumpal, Director for Gender Resource Research and Development Center from Isabela State University.

Dr. Gumpal’s presentation focused on enhancing awareness of ethics and the importance of developing a positive workplace image. She facilitated interactive activities that helped personnel identify unethical behavior and understand the significance of projecting a professional demeanor. The session aimed to empower employees with essential knowledge for maintaining a conducive and productive work environment, not only through their work but also through their conduct and attitude.

Held at the Learning Resource Center, JAA Building, Diffun Campus, the training concluded with an awarding of certificate to the keynote speaker and a photo opportunity with the participants.
