The QSU’s International Relations Officer, Dr. Romiro G. Bautista, was granted participation to the prestigious US-PH Global Partnership Workshop which concluded on August 28 to 29, 2024 at the Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Pasig City, Metro Manila.

As the organizers screened participants ensuring a diverse range of expertise, rank, and positions, 30 representatives among 271 HEIs-applicants were invited to the workshop.

Organized by US Study Abroad and Fulbright Philippines, the event sought to enhance the quality of education in the Philippines by fostering partnerships that promote academic exchange, research collaboration, and student mobility. With its theme, “Advancing Internationalization and Continuing Engagements between the US and Philippine Higher Education Institutions,” the workshop focused on international education and global partnerships.

With the participation of representatives from the government sector, private sector, and the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) board of directors, the HEI leaders engaged in discussions and presentations on key points like the study abroad effect, developing partnerships from a US perspective, and building connections with US institutions. They also explored strategies for transforming connections into long-term partnerships, academic exchanges, and increasing study abroad opportunities for American students.

In an interview after arriving from the workshop, Dr. Bautista expressed his excitement over this global engagement as it unlocked scholarship and fellowship opportunities and opened doors for academic immersions and endeavors. These engagements are seen to contribute to the development of world-class education at QSU.
