Diffun, Quirino- The University held a ceremonial blessing for its recently completed project- the improvement of its multipurpose building on August 13, 2024.

In a ceremony attended by key officials and the Project Management Team headed by Engr. Silverio D. Pascua (PMU) and Engr. Dennis S. Opiano (GSO), the newly painted multipurpose building, which also serves as the University Gymnasium, was presented with added amenities. These include new bleachers, restrooms, and offices. The facility will serve as a venue for various mass gatherings, including athletic competitions and socio-cultural activities. It is also expected to generate income for the university.

In his message, University President Hermenegildo F. Samoy, Jr., shared how happy he was as another project was realized that will be instrumental for students’ learning. He congratulated all the working committees and units involved in the project. He reminded, β€œMake the halls of this building holy; it should fulfill its purpose and should serve God and humanity.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Elizabeth T. Carig (VP-ARE), expressed gratitude to the administration for prioritizing the project. She emphasized the facility’s importance in supporting physical education instructors as they develop sports and wellness programs for students and personnel. VP Carig also expressed optimism about the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) approval of the proposed Project ACTIVE, which aims to provide a comprehensive initiative in promoting a culture of wellness within the QSU community. Supporting the improvements of the building, the proposed project is seen provide amenities that will eventually boost sports development and tourism in the province.

Furthermore, Dr. Florigold V. Saldaen (VP-A&F), Dr. Rosalyn L. Delizo (University DI), and Dr. Jenalyn M. Sarmiento (OSAS Director), shared their excitement about the new improvements of the building as it will cater to special events of the university.
